Judi moore has always enjoyed the creative process. She developed her interest in the visual arts while growing up in Hudson, Ohio, by participating in any activity that involved art, from building stage sets, to art camps. In high school, she participated in an Academic Art Program, a University of Akron art education program for high school students, and was a recipient of a national Scholastic Art Award for her work. Because of this interest, she attended Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio after high school, and graduated from The University of Akron, with a degree in Art Education. After college, Judi had a 21 year career, teaching art to all ages of students in public schools in four states. Her personal objective when teaching art was always to instill a love of the visual arts in her students. Judi also illustrated seven books for Mosaic Press, a publisher of mineature books in Cincinnati, Ohio.
After retiring ftom teaching to spend more time with her family, Judi began to pursue her own art with a renewed interest in painting. Judi studied painting with Virginia Soresby Fergus, Coe Steinwart, Janet Walsh, Charles Harrington, Jan Kunz, Pat Dews and Delores Kennedy. Often her paintings are taken from the sketches and photos made on her travels at home in the U.S. and in Europe. She says, "I am always influenced by my surroundings, and want to share the beauty of the landscape or objects in the way they speak to me."
