Landscape, Still Life, Children's Alphabets

I retired from teaching art in public schools, to spend more time with my family and to pursue my own art.  I paint primarily in watercolor and enjoy experimenting in oil, acrylic and collage.  Teachers who have influenced me are Virginia Soresby Fergus, Coe Steinwart, Janet Walsh, Charles Harrington, Jan Kunz and Pat Dews.

Usually I paint landscape or still life with expressive color and light.  Often my paintings are from the sketches and photos taken during travels at home in the U. S. and in Europe.  I am always influenced by my surroundings and want to share the beauty of the landscape or objects in the way they speak to me.

Recently I created a series of children's alphabets.  The alphabets are a delight for me. When I am designing them, I feel as if I'm reading to a child.
